Your Concierge in Medellín and Bogotá
One team on your side for buying, moving or planning a group trip.
Our Medellín concierge does the legwork on the ground for you, in Medellín and in Bogotá. At Colombia Desk, we run three services: a buyer’s concierge for people buying property, a relocation concierge for people moving here, and a group trip concierge. The group service covers families, weddings, bachelor parties and holidays.
In every service we work for you, the buyer, the mover or the group, and never for a seller. You tell us what you need in a few lines on the contact form, and we reply with how we would handle it and what happens next.
How we can help
The Three Concierge Services
Each service has its own page with the full step list. Start with the one that matches your plan.
| Service | For | What we handle |
|---|---|---|
| Buyer’s concierge in Medellín and in Bogotá | Foreigners buying an apartment or house | Shortlist, viewings, offer, the lawyer and title study, the money transfer, the notary and the keys |
| Relocation concierge | People moving to Medellín or Bogotá | Neighborhood shortlist, first rental, visa paperwork with a lawyer, cédula appointment, bank account and phone |
| Group trip concierge | Families, wedding parties, bachelor parties, holiday groups | The villa or hotel, airport transfers and drivers, restaurant tables, day trips such as Guatapé |
The buyer’s concierge has two pages because the cities are two markets. Asking prices averaged about 7.06 million Colombian pesos (COP) per square meter for apartments in Medellín and COP 7.42 million in Bogotá in the first quarter of 2026. Those figures come from Ciencuadras and its Bogotá report, and the neighborhoods foreigners pick differ too.
Which Service to Start With
If you are buying and moving at once, start with the buyer’s concierge for your city. The purchase sets the timeline, and if you want the property investor visa, the price and the title have to meet the visa rules before you make an offer. The relocation steps then fit around the closing date. We would flip that order only if a stay limit comes first. A visa-exempt visitor can spend 180 days a year in Colombia, so a closing date past that limit means the visa paperwork starts before the purchase.
If you are moving but not buying yet, start with the relocation concierge. We usually suggest renting for a few months first, and the relocation service covers the rental search.
If your plan is a trip of a few days or weeks, the group trip concierge is the right one. That holds even for two people on a big date, such as an anniversary during the Feria de las Flores.
How Working with Us Goes
Every service runs the same five steps, whatever you are planning.
- You send a brief. A few lines on the contact form: what you need, which city, when, and a budget if you have one.
- We reply with a plan. You get how we would run it, who else is involved (a lawyer, a notary, a property manager, a driver) and what happens in what order.
- A call to settle the details. We confirm the plan, the dates and what you want to decide yourself.
- We do the work, and you approve each step. Every offer, booking and document goes to you before it goes anywhere else.
- The handover. Keys, contacts and a written list of what is done and what is still open, or for a trip, an itinerary and a number to call while you are here.
For buyers, the order in step 2 matters most. When we take on a purchase, we order the title study before anyone signs the promesa de compraventa. A lien found after the deposit is paid is far harder to walk away from.
What We Never Do
The concierge coordinates professionals and does not replace them, so there are four things we never do.
- Act for a seller. On a purchase, we work only for you, the buyer.
- Give legal opinions, sign deeds or decide visas. A Colombian lawyer gives legal advice, a notary executes the deed, and Cancillería decides visa applications.
- Promise a rental yield or a visa outcome. We check whether a building allows short stays and whether a price clears the visa minimum, but income and approvals depend on things nobody controls in advance.
- Commit you to anything without your approval. Offers, bookings and payments go out only after you say yes.
Who the Concierge Is Not For
If you speak Spanish, have bought in Colombia before and already have a lawyer you trust, you may not need a buyer’s concierge, and the buying hub covers the steps. If you need a Colombian mortgage, sort out financing first. Colombian banks do not lend to non-resident foreigners on a passport alone, according to Nexo Legal, so plan to pay cash or borrow at home.
Starting with the Concierge
Your first message commits you to nothing. Pick your service and send a brief: buying, moving or a trip.
To start with the Medellín concierge or our Bogotá concierge, send a few lines on the contact form and we will come back with a first plan.
Frequently asked questions
How much does the concierge cost?
We do not publish a fee, because a remote apartment purchase with a visa attached asks far more of us than a weekend villa booking. Tell us what you need on the contact form and we reply with how we would help and what it involves, before you commit to anything.
Are you lawyers, notaries or real estate brokers?
No. We are not lawyers, notaries, licensed brokers or immigration officials. We find and coordinate the professionals your plan needs, such as an independent Colombian lawyer for the title study. We keep them on schedule and explain each document in plain English.
Can you help if I am not in Colombia yet?
Yes. We run viewings on live video, collect documents by email and line up appointments for the days you are here. For a purchase, a special power of attorney signed at a Colombian consulate can let someone sign the deed for you, and your lawyer drafts it.
Do you work in cities other than Medellín and Bogotá?
Our services are built around Medellín, its neighbor Envigado, and Bogotá. For group trips we also plan days out from those cities, such as Guatapé from Medellín. Tell us about anything further afield and we will say plainly whether we can help.
What is the safest area of Medellín to stay in?
No official source ranks Medellín neighborhoods by safety, and most risks foreigners face, such as dating-app robberies and fake taxis, are not tied to one area. Most visitors base themselves in El Poblado, Laureles or Envigado. Where to stay in Medellín compares them, and is Medellín safe covers the precautions.
Whose side are you on in a property purchase?
Yours. On a purchase our concierge works only for the buyer, and every offer, document and payment goes to you for approval before it goes anywhere else. The seller’s agent and the notary have their own roles, and an independent lawyer you hire handles the legal review.

Colombia Desk publishes general information about buying property, living in and visiting Colombia. It is not legal, tax, immigration or financial advice. Rules, fees and minimum amounts change, and prices and exchange rates move.
